Nova Scotia Facility Poised For Move

Atlantic Crane & Material Handling is moving its Dartmouth location to a new “state of the art” facility in July.

The new 36,000 square foot plant will allow the company to manufacture larger cranes as well as “control the quality of the finished product,” said an announcement from the company.

The new facility will be on Trider Crescent in Darmouth’s Burnside Industrial Park, just around the corner from the existing location in the park at 40 Joseph Zatzman Dr., which it will replace, said Sheldon Miner, a branch manager with Atlantic Crane.

A boom in business prompted the move. In the last two quarters, the company has sold and installed approximately cranes worth about $2.6 million in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.

In about three weeks in late March and early April, the company received interest for purchases of six cranes with a combined value of $600,000.

“The growth is attributed to the level of service delivered by Atlantic Crane,” Miner said. “Our customers trust us to inspect and maintain their equipment to meet  and exceed all standards and provincial regulations, thus keeping their workplace safe and productive.”
